Some researchers believe that the artist depicted himself and his lover Emilia Flöge. A compositional sculpture based on the motifs of the painting was installed in Oranienbaum Park. The canvas was created in Klimt’s so-called “Golden Period”, when he painted a series of similar gilded style works.

This masterpiece is the work of Gustav Klimt․ The name of the painting “Kiss” also corresponds to the symbol of the day.
