SHANGHAI RANKING. What is it?
The ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities) is often known as the Shanghai Ranking.
The ARWU is one of the leading rankings of the world’s best universities. The list of ARWU ranking results of the 500 best universities worldwide has been published since 2003.
The teachers and graduates of the universities included in the ARWU list should be either Nobel or Fields Prize winners or have publications in scientific journals such as Science Citation Index-Expanded, and Social Science Citation Index.
There are only 1,000 such universities, of which the best 500 are in the Shanghai Ranking.
In the Republic of Armenia, the right of deferral from the army is granted according to the Shanghai Ranking.
By the way, there is an update: For the army deferral subject ranking will not be considered anymore, only top 50 academic universities will be considered. . The best universities receive 100 points for each index, and the points of other universities will be calculated as a percentage of the maximum.
