The European Studies major provides students with a broad understanding of political, cultural, and economic issues in Europe, while preparing them for an international career that can make a global impact. The program combines a multilayered curriculum with opportunities to practice skills in student clubs, participate in exchange programs at European universities, and join international field trips. Graduates have gone on to work in EU institutions, media, diplomacy, human rights, and NGOs. Career paths include roles such as EU government official, international correspondent, human rights campaigner, EU affairs researcher, diplomat, and NGO leader.

- Academic: Applicants need to provide an official transcript from the last three years of high school, or a high school diploma with final grades if already graduated. Transcripts are accepted in English, Bulgarian, or Russian, with certified and notarized translations if needed. The recommended minimum GPA is 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- English: Applicants are required to submit official English proficiency test scores. A waiver may be granted for those who have completed at least three years at an accredited English-language high school. A free Institutional English Proficiency Test is also offered annually.
